Grace is financially challenged, and about to lose her estate when she meets Evan Atwood, a famous author with a severe case of writer's block. He rents a room at her estate and pays her to help him finish his book. With his angry publisher hot on his trail, he must write, or there will be no more money. His muse has been missing in action for far too long while he partied and spent his advance. When he meets Grace, he knows he has found her. They work together on his book, and their story writes itself. Just when romance seems to be blossoming, Evan betrays her, or does he? Grace is hurt and confused, and Evan has some explaining to do.
"Well constructed, the characterization superb. My attention was locked in from page one to the end."
"A Writer Finds his Muse ... I'm growing more fond of Amelia Fernside's stories all the time. They are clean, sweet and full of hope and love."
"When a rogue turns into a hero, and a woman's romantic notions are fulfilled by the frog turned prince, it is a satisfying romantic read."
"I have become an ardent Amelia Fernside fan, as it is my opinion she is a master at telling short story regency romances of the highest quality."
A Regency Romance novelette, 16,000 words
Regency Romance Grace Last Affair edition by Amelia Fernside Health Fitness Dieting eBooks
This is the fourth of Amelia Fernside's short stories I have read. The first three were definite five star offerings. I have become an ardent Amelia Fernside fan as it is my opinion she is a master at telling short story regency romances of the highest quality. I liked Grace's Last Affair, but, for me, it was not quite on a par with her previous offerings. The basic story was well constructed and the characterization suburb. As usual, Ms. Fernside's descriptions were outstanding. My attention was locked in from page one to the end. I have my own personal standards that a story must meet to be awarded five stars. In the past, Ms. Fernside not only met, but exceeded, every one of those standards. Among those standards the requirement that every element of the story must be believable and realistic. Unfortunately, it did not ring true to me that an author as revered as was Evan Atwood could produce a long overdue work ready for publication in such a short time as presented in the story, let alone produce an extra hand written copy of the manuscript to leave with Grace. The implication was that Evan's previous works were at least sizable enough that they could be sold for a profit high enough to warrant the publisher to pursue the author in search of his next manuscript. The simple story Evan apparently produced as depicted here simply could have not been sufficient large to be acceptable to a profit motivated publisher because of time limitations. As great as was everything else about this story, this flaw was large enough to downgrade my review to a four star story.Product details

Regency Romance Grace Last Affair edition by Amelia Fernside Health Fitness Dieting eBooks Reviews
I'm growing more fond of Amelia Fernside's stories all the time. They are clean, sweet and full of hope and love. They are what romance is all about. When a rogue turns into a hero in the throes of love, and a woman's romantic notions are fulfilled by the frog turned prince, it is a satisfying read. I enjoy a quick light read in today's chaotic stressful environment. What a nice little vacation this was.
